Week 20

Yes this post should have been done four weeks, but it's better late than never.
Week 20 brought us to another ultrasound...yay!  This could be the ultrasound that we find out the gender.  Since the day I found out I was pregnant, I did not want to know the sex of the baby, Daddy however was a different story.  I thought about Daddy knowing and not telling me, but somehow I knew that just wouldn't work.  1. I would have hounded him almost daily about it and 2. I was afraid of him having it slip out not just to me but to someone else.  So, I prayed that Baby Liefer would be stubborn and not show us his/her "stuff".  Let me tell you the baby was most definitely stubborn...this child was face down and ass up.  When the ultrasound tech asked if we wanted to know the sex, much to my surprise the word "yes" came out of my mouth.  So, when the tech went to reveal the baby's gender...I got my wish.  Baby Liefer was stubborn and locked their knees together.  However, I believe I maybe prayed a little too hard because BL was so stubborn that the tech couldn't even get a picture of his/her face and literally crossed his/her arms over his/her face and gave us a nice big thumbs up!!!  So, we get to have another photoshoot opportunity at week 28 and maybe BL will as least show his/her face.
Yep, that's the back of my child's head with a nice thumbs up.  Maybe the baby just isn't a morning person.

Week 16 - Almost 17

Since Sarah called me out on Facebook for slacking on the blog, I figured it was about time for an update.  Here's an update on how the past month of the pregnancy has been going.  Weeks 12-15=feeling very BLAH!  Still didn't have much of an appetite.  I would have occasional good day but they felt like they were few and far between - I guess that would explain the weight loss.  Yes, looking back it wasn't that bad and I know several women who have had it much worse, so I would try hard to not complain.  After being sick for the last time on August 18th, I have been feeling fairly decent.  I only had one day that I didn't feel good.  I went to the doctor for my week 16 checkup and she found the heartbeat within about 30 seconds.  It felt longer when she initially started searching.  That truly is the most AHHHHMAZING sound in the whole world.  I also believe I have been feeling the baby.  It feels like popcorn popping and it doesn't happen very often - if what I feel is the baby then baby really likes Daddy's voice because the other night he came home and started talking and the popcorn was a really popping.  I am still anxiously awaiting that first kick where I know for sure that's what I feel.

Here are a few stats:
How far along?  One day shy of 17 weeks!!!
Total weight gain/loss:  Loss of 8lbs
Sleep:  Not as tired...through the night I only wake up to use the restroom.
Best moment this week:  Hearing the heartbeat at the doctor's office
What I miss:  Ice Cream - for whatever reason this is something that Baby Liefer doesn't want Mommy to enjoy
Movement:  I believe so
Food Cravings:  Tequitos (Casa Ramon style - thank God my sister-in-law was a cook there and remembers how to make these), chocolate chip cookies, Dr. Pepper
What I am looking forward to:  Feeling the first kick
Baby's Milestones:  He/She is now the size of an onion.  As of last week, baby was already able to hear.

Our Little Secret

So if you haven't heard or seen it on facebook yet...Dustin and I are EXPECTING!!  Baby Liefer is scheduled to arrive around February 9, 2012.  We are both very excited and so are our families.  Here is a picture of Baby Liefer at 12 weeks gestation (07-28-2011).
People ask me how I have been feeling and it really just depends on the day.  The last two weeks have been better with the morning all day sick feeling.  I seriously cannot complain because so many have had it much worse than me.  I also now COMPLETELY understand when a pregnant woman says she's exhausted.  It's because she IS!  I always understood that fatigue would come along with it but wowza I had no idea just how tired I would be.  I come home from work...somehow find some energy to make supper (nothing gourmet by any means) and by six I am on the couch snoozing.  Sure a ten minute nap wouldn't be so bad but it ends up being like an hour later.  If they would let me take naps at work, I would totally be snoring away!  As far as food cravings, I really haven't had anything drastic...like Dustin doesn't have to make a 11:00pm run to the grocery store or anything.  Somethings I have craved along the way are Taco Bell, Jimmy Johns, Macaroni and Cheese...that's a few that come to mind so far.  I also for whatever reason now have to have Ketchup with my french fries...I am not a ketchup person.
That's it for now...I am sure I will have updates in the weeks to come! :)

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend flew by juat as they always do.  Friday night we decided to run to Fairview to Jared's so I could get my ring cleaned.  Not sure why but the tech that helped thought I only wanted it inspected, so I had to ask her twice to clean it.  Look at it lady...it's DIRTY!!!  I have never had any issues there so hopefully it was just that this lady was having a "not-so" good day.  After get the jewelry thing taken care of, we went to Ruby Tuesday to eat and then headed back to the Bud.  We were dog sitting all weekend (Spencer is such a great dog) so we came home, let the dog out and then headed to bed.  Saturday morning/afternoon we did a whole lot of NOTHING!!  Seriously, Dustin laid down and took a 3 hour nap and I took a 2 hour nap.  We decided that maybe we should go do something / anything just to get out of the house.  As we were heading out we received a text that our friends had their baby!  We are so happy for them.  We decided to wait and see them on Sunday...they had had a LONG day and needed some rest!  We took a drive around the countryside and checked fields.  Oh the joys of being a Farmer's wife.  Yep all the crops are popping out of the ground.  We then headed over to the ball diamonds and watch Dustin's cousin play ball.  Very exciting games to watch.
On Sunday we woke up early and headed over to see the baby!  He is absolutely precious!  After the hospital we headed to Sam's to get some lemonade...yay we decided it was time to leave after spending over $100.00.  That was some very expensive lemonade.  Sunday evening we headed to Dustin's parent's house for some fried chicken (YUM!) and some quality family time.
It was a GREAT weekend and I am so ready for the next weekend!!

Have you seen...

This Man:

He was probably last seen in one of these:

He should be done today...well that is until they decide to fire up the combine and get the wheat out and then put in the double crop beans.  I am really hoping that I may get to spend an evening with my husband tonight and possibly Friday night.  And I am majorly crossing my fingers that he will have the weekend off.  That may be wishful thinking so I am praying hard for a little rain!!  Not seeing him but for a maybe an hour a day (waking hours) can be very trying.  I did go ride in the tractor with him the other day so that helped out.  I do try to remember that it could be worse.  Any Military spouse/family member gets a big standing ovation from me!  A big THANK YOU to all the men and women who leave their families to guarantee our safety!!!

Cardinal Ballgame

On June 1st, we headed to the Cardinal game.  It was Khoury League night at the stadium which meant the RB Khoury League players got to walk around the field.  It was also special because one boy and one girl from Red Bud had the honor of throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.  This year my niece was the lucky one who got to do this and she did absolutely wonderful.  She even threw a strike.
