100 DAYS!!

Wow only 100 days left!!  Tomorrow we will be in double digits...yay!!!  It's a little hard to believe that we are already at this point.

The last couple of weeks I have felt really good (other than my hips and back starting to bother me occasionally).  I guess that just goes with the territory.  I am excited for my next ultrasound, maybe Baby Liefer won't be so stubborn and show us his/her face. :)  It's also hard to believe that this will probably be our last ultrasound.

A little less than 3 weeks until our third trimester begins!!

Week 24

I had my regular 4 week check-up on week 24.  Baby Liefer has a nice strong heartbeat!  I have one more four week appointment and then I start going every 2 weeks.  Oh and I also get to take the glucose test before my next appointment (really not looking forward to that).  No pictures this time so I will just leave you with some stats...

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still down 4 lbs from original weight
Sleep: What's this? - If I sleep longer than 3 hours - I am impressed.
Best Moment this week:  Of course hearing the heartbeat at the doctor's office.
What I miss: Other than a good night's sleep (which won't happen again for years) - nothing
Movement: Definitely getting stronger
Food Cravings: The most defined craving was a Whopper from Burger King...one weekend I was bound and determined to get one of these things.  I did too. :)
What I am looking forward to: Ultrasound in four weeks

Something New...

It has come time to say good-bye to the two door car and hello to a family vehicle.

After eleven years and 127,000+ miles, this has finally been traded off...
I would have used a picture from when I purchased the car but I believe that was before digital cameras were even invented!!!

And we are now the proud new payment makers of this...
A 2012 Chevy Equinox!

Cardinal Playoff Game

Let me just say...it's awesome having in-laws that have season tickets for the St. Louis Cardinals.  They offered us playoff tickets for Game 3 of the NLCS...and you better believe we gladly went.  Here's a few pics from the evening.

Sorry for the bad pic...it was rainy and my husband hates pictures...so this is what I get.

 The final score Cardinals 4 - Brewers 3 :)

Even the rally squirrel made an appearance!

Week 20

Yes this post should have been done four weeks, but it's better late than never.
Week 20 brought us to another ultrasound...yay!  This could be the ultrasound that we find out the gender.  Since the day I found out I was pregnant, I did not want to know the sex of the baby, Daddy however was a different story.  I thought about Daddy knowing and not telling me, but somehow I knew that just wouldn't work.  1. I would have hounded him almost daily about it and 2. I was afraid of him having it slip out not just to me but to someone else.  So, I prayed that Baby Liefer would be stubborn and not show us his/her "stuff".  Let me tell you the baby was most definitely stubborn...this child was face down and ass up.  When the ultrasound tech asked if we wanted to know the sex, much to my surprise the word "yes" came out of my mouth.  So, when the tech went to reveal the baby's gender...I got my wish.  Baby Liefer was stubborn and locked their knees together.  However, I believe I maybe prayed a little too hard because BL was so stubborn that the tech couldn't even get a picture of his/her face and literally crossed his/her arms over his/her face and gave us a nice big thumbs up!!!  So, we get to have another photoshoot opportunity at week 28 and maybe BL will as least show his/her face.
Yep, that's the back of my child's head with a nice thumbs up.  Maybe the baby just isn't a morning person.

Week 16 - Almost 17

Since Sarah called me out on Facebook for slacking on the blog, I figured it was about time for an update.  Here's an update on how the past month of the pregnancy has been going.  Weeks 12-15=feeling very BLAH!  Still didn't have much of an appetite.  I would have occasional good day but they felt like they were few and far between - I guess that would explain the weight loss.  Yes, looking back it wasn't that bad and I know several women who have had it much worse, so I would try hard to not complain.  After being sick for the last time on August 18th, I have been feeling fairly decent.  I only had one day that I didn't feel good.  I went to the doctor for my week 16 checkup and she found the heartbeat within about 30 seconds.  It felt longer when she initially started searching.  That truly is the most AHHHHMAZING sound in the whole world.  I also believe I have been feeling the baby.  It feels like popcorn popping and it doesn't happen very often - if what I feel is the baby then baby really likes Daddy's voice because the other night he came home and started talking and the popcorn was a really popping.  I am still anxiously awaiting that first kick where I know for sure that's what I feel.

Here are a few stats:
How far along?  One day shy of 17 weeks!!!
Total weight gain/loss:  Loss of 8lbs
Sleep:  Not as tired...through the night I only wake up to use the restroom.
Best moment this week:  Hearing the heartbeat at the doctor's office
What I miss:  Ice Cream - for whatever reason this is something that Baby Liefer doesn't want Mommy to enjoy
Movement:  I believe so
Food Cravings:  Tequitos (Casa Ramon style - thank God my sister-in-law was a cook there and remembers how to make these), chocolate chip cookies, Dr. Pepper
What I am looking forward to:  Feeling the first kick
Baby's Milestones:  He/She is now the size of an onion.  As of last week, baby was already able to hear.

Our Little Secret

So if you haven't heard or seen it on facebook yet...Dustin and I are EXPECTING!!  Baby Liefer is scheduled to arrive around February 9, 2012.  We are both very excited and so are our families.  Here is a picture of Baby Liefer at 12 weeks gestation (07-28-2011).
People ask me how I have been feeling and it really just depends on the day.  The last two weeks have been better with the morning all day sick feeling.  I seriously cannot complain because so many have had it much worse than me.  I also now COMPLETELY understand when a pregnant woman says she's exhausted.  It's because she IS!  I always understood that fatigue would come along with it but wowza I had no idea just how tired I would be.  I come home from work...somehow find some energy to make supper (nothing gourmet by any means) and by six I am on the couch snoozing.  Sure a ten minute nap wouldn't be so bad but it ends up being like an hour later.  If they would let me take naps at work, I would totally be snoring away!  As far as food cravings, I really haven't had anything drastic...like Dustin doesn't have to make a 11:00pm run to the grocery store or anything.  Somethings I have craved along the way are Taco Bell, Jimmy Johns, Macaroni and Cheese...that's a few that come to mind so far.  I also for whatever reason now have to have Ketchup with my french fries...I am not a ketchup person.
That's it for now...I am sure I will have updates in the weeks to come! :)

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend flew by juat as they always do.  Friday night we decided to run to Fairview to Jared's so I could get my ring cleaned.  Not sure why but the tech that helped thought I only wanted it inspected, so I had to ask her twice to clean it.  Look at it lady...it's DIRTY!!!  I have never had any issues there so hopefully it was just that this lady was having a "not-so" good day.  After get the jewelry thing taken care of, we went to Ruby Tuesday to eat and then headed back to the Bud.  We were dog sitting all weekend (Spencer is such a great dog) so we came home, let the dog out and then headed to bed.  Saturday morning/afternoon we did a whole lot of NOTHING!!  Seriously, Dustin laid down and took a 3 hour nap and I took a 2 hour nap.  We decided that maybe we should go do something / anything just to get out of the house.  As we were heading out we received a text that our friends had their baby!  We are so happy for them.  We decided to wait and see them on Sunday...they had had a LONG day and needed some rest!  We took a drive around the countryside and checked fields.  Oh the joys of being a Farmer's wife.  Yep all the crops are popping out of the ground.  We then headed over to the ball diamonds and watch Dustin's cousin play ball.  Very exciting games to watch.
On Sunday we woke up early and headed over to see the baby!  He is absolutely precious!  After the hospital we headed to Sam's to get some lemonade...yay we decided it was time to leave after spending over $100.00.  That was some very expensive lemonade.  Sunday evening we headed to Dustin's parent's house for some fried chicken (YUM!) and some quality family time.
It was a GREAT weekend and I am so ready for the next weekend!!

Have you seen...

This Man:

He was probably last seen in one of these:

He should be done today...well that is until they decide to fire up the combine and get the wheat out and then put in the double crop beans.  I am really hoping that I may get to spend an evening with my husband tonight and possibly Friday night.  And I am majorly crossing my fingers that he will have the weekend off.  That may be wishful thinking so I am praying hard for a little rain!!  Not seeing him but for a maybe an hour a day (waking hours) can be very trying.  I did go ride in the tractor with him the other day so that helped out.  I do try to remember that it could be worse.  Any Military spouse/family member gets a big standing ovation from me!  A big THANK YOU to all the men and women who leave their families to guarantee our safety!!!

Cardinal Ballgame

On June 1st, we headed to the Cardinal game.  It was Khoury League night at the stadium which meant the RB Khoury League players got to walk around the field.  It was also special because one boy and one girl from Red Bud had the honor of throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.  This year my niece was the lucky one who got to do this and she did absolutely wonderful.  She even threw a strike.

Weekend Recap (a little late)

Friday night I played Bunco with the girls.  I always enjoy these nights...great conversations...great food...great drinks...oh and let's not forget...Bunco.  Apparently, I didn't pratice (haha) enough last week because I didn't do very good.  While I was at Bunco, Dustin helped Joe bury the dog fence wire.  Not sure what the correct terminology is for that but I think that sounds good enough.  Anyways, we both got home late and I actually beat Dustin home.  So, I pull into the driveway at 12:30 to find this...
Dustin and I are both still trying to figure this out!!
Saturday I helped my Mom with a wedding.  Yep, that pretty much covers that day of the weekend.  On to the next day...Sunday we went to lunch at The Office.  I seriously LOVE eating at this establishment and hadn't been there for probably two weeks...so yes, I was having MAJOR withdrawals!!!  So after getting my fix of lemon pepper wings, we headed out to the farm to show off the tractors to a lady who was visiting from Thailand.  To see her reactions to all the big equipment was simply amazing.  She informed us that in Thailand they do all the farming by hand and each farm consists of roughly 10 acres.  She amazed us on this one.  After that we went to Joe and Jen's and I finally got to see the Baby's room.  It is so caauute!!!  Dustin stayed there and helped Joe finish up the fence and I headed to the monthly Voss family party.  I love getting to see the family so much and it does bother me when we miss it.  It is amazing how the younger ones change so fast.
So that pretty much sums up the weekend...the past two days we've been waiting for the fields to dry up.  Finally...today may be the day when Dustin can get some more corn in the ground...150acres done...alot more to go. :)

Need a Laugh...

I received an email this morning at work and thought I would share the link with all of you.

It's all pictures of Awkard Pet Family Photos.  Some of them are absolutely hilarious and others, well, let's just say I really feel for the photographer. :)
I also really hope this link works. : \

Thankful Thursday

After watching the news this morning I realized I have SOOO much to be thankful for...
- my wonderful family and friends
- our town was spared from any storm damage on Good Friday
- not one person lost their life in the other towns and at Lambert Airport - seeing footage from Alabama is just heartbreaking
- I have a roof over my head and shoes on my feet
- I remembered to set the DVR for the royal wedding tomorrow
- that four years ago my life changed in such a positive way.  Not sure where I would be if Dustin and I weren't set up to meet four years ago. (I'll tell the full story some other time)
The list could go on forever.

Good Friday Fun Day!

So for the past two years I have had the opportunity to partake in this event.  It is basically exactly what the title says.  Every year on Good Friday a group of us ladies take off work and go hit up some wineries. (This year is actually the 3rd annually but the 2nd that I went along for.)  Last year we went to Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston.  They have amazing wine and the scenery is just spectacular.  If you ever get a chance to go there and if you like sweet wine try the "Old Fart" or "Neighbors from Hell".  It's really the same wine just different labels.
This year we went to Grafton.  We managed to go to three establishments.  The first stop was The Grafton Winery.  What a beautiful view of the Mississippi River.  Their Apple wine is greatness!!  I don't fully remember the name of the next two stops...they were something like the Big Kahuna and The Loading Dock.

Weekend Wrap Up

It's pretty sad when you can't even remember what you did!!!  Friday night...oh yeah...Dustin was in the field so I stayed home and cleaned, got supper ready, cleaned some more, a little facebook, ok so you get the picture!  Dustin got home around 8pm, we ate supper and then decided to get my bike ready for the poker run.  WELL, the front tire was flat, so we took it out to the shop to repair...Dustin made the hole a little bigger in the process and needless to say the night ended with a trip to Wal-Mart at 9:30 and in bed by 11:00.
Saturday brought the Bicycle Poker Run!!  What a GREAT time!!!  If you ever have the chance to do this...DO IT!!  My legs and rear-end may still be sore today (Monday) and will probably still be tomorrow...it was totally worth it. :)  I only wiped out once which I thought was pretty good considering it's been, oh, like a year since I rode last.  I have the very beautiful bruise to remind too.
Sunday...I worked a wedding with mom.  Yes, I did put the word "wedding" and "Sunday" in the same sentence.  You didn't misread that.
Overall, I had an amazing weekend!

Weekend Rewind

Whew...why does the weekend go sooooo fast?!?!  Friday night helped make and decorate 100 cupcakes for a baby shower.  Not that I was all that much help...I only mixed two cake batters and then left to watch the spring musical at the Lutheran school.  The play was very cute.  Afterwards went to DQ for a blizzard and then headed back to help with the cupcakes.  By the time I got back they were almost done!!  Two batches had burnt so I did assist in mixing another batter and that we made into one big cupcake...super cute!

Saturday morning got up at normal time...who sleeps in anyways?  By 11am I had already been to Schnucks, Wal-Mart, the DMV, the bank, and wrapped the birthday present for the afternoon.  Saturday afternoon was spent with a very sweet little one year old for her birthday party!  Her Mommy and Daddy did an amazing job with all the decorations.  The evening consisted of me staying home while Dustin worked.

Sunday it was time for the baby shower!  This was a much anticipated event...we were FINALLY going to find out if this little bundle of joy is a BOY or GIRL!?!?!?!?!  After an hour into the shower, the cake was finally cut (the cake revealed the sex of the baby) and....drumroll please...It's a BOY!!!!  I am so super excited and happy for our friends!!  After the shower we helped deliver the gifts to the new baby's house and then headed out to eat at Tequilas.

It was such an exciting weekend...now is it Friday yet??? :)

A Fresh Start

Ok so I am going to try to do this blog thing...AGAIN!  Not sure how well I will do at it, but at least this is a start.  I hope to figure out all the features eventually but for now I am just settling with the basics.  Hopefully, in the weeks to come I will get a few wedding pics up (I know it's been a year...but it's never too late) and pics from our recent bathroom remodel.

So, all I can say for now is....

STAY TUNED!!! :)
